June Networking Happy Hour
Thank you all for joining us for our June Networking Happy Hour in support of Juneteenth. We are pleased to announce that proceeds from drinks sold by Makers Union, a local black-owned business, will be donated to the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc.'s Northern Virginia chapter.
There are few things better than sharing moments and good times with friends and neighbors and working together to support our diverse and growing community.

Reston Forward Civic Event: South Lakes High School Food Pantry’s Simple Gestures Day
Thanks to all of our members and other volunteers who helped out with the South Lakes Highschool Food Pantry’s Simple Gestures Day! Volunteers helped package 9,147 lbs of food!

Reston Forward was honored to host a meet and greet with Supervisor Walter Alcorn! Our group enjoyed learning more about his office and how newer and younger Restonians can be involved in future decision-making! Onward and forward!
May Networking Happy Hour
Thanks to the over 50 community members that showed up to our monthly networking happy hour last week! We enjoyed talking about the need for new voices in Reston, affordable housing issues, zoning reform, and more!
Tephra Institute of Contemporary Art
Meet & Greet
Reston Forward members had a great time learning about and exploring the Tephra Institute of Contemporary Art. Founded in 1974 as the Greater Reston Arts Center by local artists and residents, Tephra ICA embraces the role of helping to fulfill and extend the original Reston vision of Reston being welcoming to all people and that it prioritizes the arts as essential to we well-rounded life.
They are also the organizers of the well-known Tephra ICA Festival!

We had a great time at the Local VA meeting our neighbors and discussing how we can all build the community we want. We had great conversations with our neighbors!
Reston Forward at Reston Founders Day
Reston Forward had a great time at Reston Founders Day volunteering with our friends at the Reston Museum. We appreciated being able to interact with community members as well as speak at the event about our organization! Another Way of Living: The Story of Reston Screening
Thanks to everyone who joined us on the evening of March 1st for our event Another Way of Living: The Story of Reston Screening. What a great documentary on the past, present, and future of our unique community. The documentary was followed up with a panel discussion with RCC Executive Director Leila Gordon, Documentary Filmmaker, Rebekah Wingert, & Reston Founders Widow, Cheryl Terio-Simon.
